AT JUST 30 years of age, Brian McFadden can’t remember how many video clips he’s filmed.
“I had 26 or 27 with Westlife and a lot by myself. Maybe it’s into the forties. It’s a lot,” McFadden tells Insider on the set of his latest clip, Chemical Rush.
“It’s getting easier as I go along because I’m a lot more involved. In the old days I’d just turn up and shoot the video, but I am across everything now.”
Chemical Rush is the second single from McFadden’s third solo studio album, Wall Of Soundz.
It follows the success of his last single, Just Say So (featuring rocker Kevin Rudolf), which topped the ARIA charts.
The Chemical Rush clip was shot at a private home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs last week.
“It’s an old folks’ home that turns into a hip house party and the people get younger as I come through the room,” he explains.
McFadden believes Wall Of Soundz is his best chance at cracking the competitive US market.
So, with fiancance Delta Goodrem based in Los Angeles, he’s planning to relocate to the US to release the album through Universal Records – once he’s finished his duties as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent.
“It will be my first time ever to release a record in America as a solo artist,” he says.
“It’s very hard over there but this is my last chance.
“I’m going to relocate there to get this business going.”

This week Just Say So moves down to #2 on the Aria Singles Chart, being taken over by Usher with his new song OMG. Congratulations to Brian for having Just Say So stay #1 for 3 weeks! This week, the single also managed to gain platinum (70,000 units) certification!
After debuting at #27 last week on the Aria Albums Chart, this week Brian’s album Wall of Soundz unfortunately moved down to #36. If you haven’t already be sure to buy the album at your local record store or on iTunes (link). It really is a fantastic album that deserves much better.
